when you google a movie star's name in, the pictures they have of themselves...are they photoshoped at all? even ones taken in the 90's and 80's?

Yes, but depending on the picture. Promotional pictures (movie posters, movie advertisements, etc) are edited as much as possible to make them look perfect. Pictures taken by photographers at, say, red carpet events are generally not edited.

Photoshop was around in the 90's, just not as advanced as it is now. Before photoshop, they literally airbrushed photos.

They are not all processed with Photoshop, but anything that comes from the studios, producers, owners, media chains with an interest, the stars themselves, etc. has likely been taken under ideal conditions or retouched in some way afterwards. There's plenty that can be done without Photoshop to make someone look good or bad.

I'm sure they do...maybe not every single one of the googled images, but all the photos in magazines/photo shoots do. No one's skin is that perfect! The candid photos in star or instyle magazines don't seem to be photoshopped, though.

Many of them, especially the female stars, have their photos airbrushed (or with modern abilities, altered digitally) to remove any natural flaws.
