This is my last question for the day, thus ending my rant, but I had to say

A lot of the people that have answered my questions today have made it blatantly obvious that they know little to NOTHING about the commercial meat market. If they did, they'd know that these animals are vet checked, there is a Federally mandated guideline as to space alottment, cleanliness of barns, temperature of barns, feeding practices, etc. There are of course a few that fall through the cracks and raise nasty animals but it's not all of them. If you're gonna protest, research and protest at the ones you know aren't following FDA standards- not just everyone because you saw a biased film once.

It's sad that we live in a country where a teenager can't buy her own birth control or a loving couple can't get married or adopt an otherwise unwanted child because they're gay, but animals are deserving of special rights?

FOOD CHAIN, people. It's SCIENCE.

My husband and other employees even have to risk their OWN lives and safety to make sure the animals don't know when they're about to die.

All that malarky you hear about they cut their throats and let them slowly bleed out on the floor is not true. There is more to it than that.

Sharon I was only talking about the ones that are ignorant and are meathaters.

If you don't like meat, that's fine. If you choose not to eat it, that's fine. Don't go breaking and entering and causing others to lose money and important quality time with their children, I say.

I agree that there should be a balance. Can't ignore inhumane practices, either, as a heart should be protected from being calloused. Abusing animals will shut down a little decency in a person, then what might they get harden to?
You may be talking about something like being careless with animals which still may shut down empathy & decency in some. We should care about how all living things are treated so that we don't desensitize.
I eat meat. If I had someone over for dinner that didn't eat meat cuz of religious reasons, I wouldn't eat meat in front of them. Not to let what I eat be more important than offending what someone holds sacred. :)

You are right about all of that.
What I find wrong with this country is that everything is geared toward making money. Even if it's at the risk of people's health.
However, I did read that cutting the throat is better for the meat, because if you stun them to kill them, the shock makes them produce adrenaline which gets into the meat, then you eat it and it's a poison.
Anyway, that's how they do the kosher stuff.

You are right.. I agree.. Well i just have to say that i do know a lot about the commercial meat market; i don't have anything to do with i since i have been a vegetarian for over four years. The thing is, i could care less, maybe they do take care of the animals properly in the US but they certainly don't in the UK.

Have a nice day!

I have seen the way they put down pigs and I know it is in the most humane way possible. In my opinion animals were put here to nourish us that is my view and I see nothing wrong with it. I do think it is sad that in this country ppl cry more about animal rights than the rights of children and others. They are animals, yes I love animals but not more than my kids and my kids have to eat

There's alot of things messed up with our country. Too many things in our own back yard to take care of that are getting ridiculously overlooked. We are so overly concerned about foreign affairs...and we can't even handle those right....that we are overlooking obvious things that need attention here and nothing's getting done about it. I could go on and on about stuff, but don't want to bore you.

The biggest problem is that the smallest groups with the loudest voices get all the attention.

What is messed up? That people can't just agree to disagree and respect other people's opinions and lifestyles just because they dont agree!
