My sister has just turned 18 and is this weekend planning to go away, for the first time, with her boyfriend of around 8 months. I think that she is too young for this, and my mother is also not happy at all, but my sister is determined to go. She still lives at home and as such I think that she should respect my mother, but she shouts and screams whenever the subject is raised. It is a real bone of contention to say the least. My sister's boyfriend is 18 as well. My sister swears that it is all in innocence and nothing will happen, and insists that it is not a "dirty weekend away", but my mum is unhappy because 1. she booked this without even consulting my mum first, and 2. she feels that she is too young to be staying overnight with a boyfriend in the first place. What does everyone else think? Thoughts are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would forbid her to go. My house, my rules. There is nothing "innocent" about two 18 year olds going away for the weekend. If she ends up going, I would make sure she has consequences to suffer when she returns. Like different locks on the door....
