I sold an item on ebay (only for £15) in November 06 and posted it straight away. At the end of the year I received the same package back with a label saying it could not be delivered and was never collected from the post office. I sent the buyer an email asking what he wanted me to do but got no reply. That was nearly 2 months ago. What should I do now. I see no reason to send it again as it will cost me money. How long can I leave it before I can forget it and sell it again?

If you have recieved the item back and the buyer has not been replying to you through messaging. I see no reason to not sell the item again. If the buyer didn't accept the item the first time they definitely aren't going to accept the item the second time.

Have they already paid for the item? If they have already paid and paid using paypal, you could try to send back their payment to them. If they paid using a credit card, I wouldn't know what to do in that situation. If they paid with money order and you have not yet cashed the money order, you should send it back to the customer.

Maybe the buyer decided they didn't want the item afterall but wanted to pay you for the time they cost you? Being that it isn't free to sell items on ebay they may not want their payment back.

I would just resell the item to someone else. If in the future the person that bought the item in the first place does contact you about it, and they say something about the payment. I would then get a money order and send them their money back. If they used paypal I would transfer their money back into their paypal account then and only then.

I cannot answer your question but I can send you to the place where you can get an answer. Go to EBay and open the "Community" tab at the top. On the Community click on "Answer Center" on the left. When you are on the Answer Center, I would post this question under "packaging and shipping". You will probably have to enter your EBay user name and password or maybe establish a special Community Center account, I can't recall.

The Answer Center participants are your EBay peers, not Ebay employees, so be respectful and grateful. I have always gotten the best help there! Sometimes I just like to lurk there because some of the questions are quite entertaining. Yeah, I've gotta get a life, lol!

I'd check with eBay sellers board which you can find under the community tab as other folk on there will have had similar issues and will be able to help. Otherwise make several more attempts to contact the buyer and keep records of all attempts as well as the parcel packaging so that you have proof of your story. I would say that three months from the time the package was returned to you would be reasonable as it gives plenty of time for the buyer to contact you if they want you to resend the item.

Sell it again.

The auction is over, they didn't pick up the item. Not eBays problem. Just keep receipt for parcel.

Ebay don't get involved in this.

pull the BUYERS contact info and try to call them.

if you can't get them on the phone, send one more email stating that this will be your last attempt at contact.
