Holding a grudge is a human characteristic. Animals only rely on animal instincts. It's not that they forgive you. They live in the now and don't have "feelings". They have reactions which change from day to day. They can start brand new any time of the day and not worry about the past.

Depends on what you have!
Don't feed a pig for a few days, and you will find one of the children missing. Pigs actually eat everything, ****, their own ****, human flesh, etc. They can live off anything. Once I found that out , I suddenly didn't find Babe all that cute.

They are to a point, but just as dogs are trainable they can learn to be afraid of you. And cats, boy can they hold a grudge if they want to.
