Okie doke, I'm moving from my current apartment, which has severe hard water. Anyway, I'm about to go clean the bathtub really well, but it says on the backs of both CLR and Lime Away not to breathe the vapors. Do I really need a little medical mask thing, or would like a bandana over my mouth and nose be enough? Thanks!

First, a bandana will offer absolutely no protection from chemical vapors; it will only keep out some dust at best! You need a lot of air moving through the area, that's all. The vapors aren't too bad, but could make you a little dizzy. I think the Lime Away is cheaper and a better value.

Also if the tub is porcelain, a razor or scraper will save you a lot of time on the flat sections.

Open the window and turn on the ventillation. The bandana will help, but take breaks and be certain you get plenty of fresh air. Do you really need to use this on the whole tub or just the chrome. Try something with bleach in the tub rather than these heave duty agents.

I would use WORKS for toilet bowls to clean the rust out of the tub. It is a very fast cleaner. Use a toilet swab on a stick and rubber gloves. Do not get it in your eyes. MAKE SURE THERE IS PLENTY OF VENTILATION. Masks that you buy do not filter the toxic gases emitted from cleaners. Only a ventilation mask would do that. Spray the works on and let it run down the tub and then get the heck out for five or ten minutes. You'll have to clean and leave several times before you are finished but it really does a thorough job. Ventilation is very important though.

Get you some rubber gloves and heavily moist a rag with a product suggested as Sno-Bowl and wipe everywhere in the bathtub enable sit down only a minute no more beneficial and rinse right now. If that is not any longer sparkling repeat. it is in trouble-free terms a once in a lengthy at the same time as answer, use yet another product oftentimes to keep it sparkling. This works tremendous, besides the undeniable fact that that is fairly no longer for tubs and could eliminate the end if used alot over a era of time. no longer to scare you besides the undeniable fact that that is designed for bathing room bowls no longer tubs. i grow to be waiting to interchange my bathtub so I suggested what the heck - it worked so solid that that is been about 15 years and my bathtub continues to be going solid. we've authentic troublesome water, with rust and it is a consistent conflict.

A bandanna won't do a thing. The best thing to do is to keep windows open all the way, even if it's cold outside. A portable fan is also a good idea..... I've done this myself. Those vapors can be deadly, so be careful!

I use CLR a lot and have never had severe fumes but for safety open a window and use as litttle CLR as possible.

They're both chemically strong. If there is a vent in bathroom, turn it on. Otherwise, put a floor fan in bathroom and leave door open.
