how powerful would humans be if they're able to use more than 10% of their nrain power.....
what other powers do u think humans would posses if they used...say 70% of their brain...

Unfortunately higher brain power has nothing to do with higher moral capacity. Greater proficiency in science would allow us to destroy ourselves that much quicker. Today, the world is threatened from nuclear technology. We have major nuclear issues surrounding Iran and North Korea. Pakistan and India in shows of power have detonated nuclear bombs recently. Does the world really need greatly improved intellect, when our morality, our hearts, our selfishness, stays the same? Thinking about the near future - can anyone say Genetic Warfare?

Even when we make new discoveries, do we decrease the number of questions we have, or increase them? I believe even with greater intellect we would still have some of the same old questions - why are we here, what is the purpose of life, is there a God?

RATS.....another long held belief will have to bite the dust.
I believed that one for years and was convinced that LSD allowed me to access parts of my brain that were not available to me normally. I still wonder about that.......

BUT I have studied the brain a tad more scientifically since, and know that that is not true. WHICH DOES NOT MEAN that using a lot more is not possible. The brain itself is physical, and like the body, can develop mental "muscles" and become phenomenally more powerful than it appears.

Some of the famous geniuses we know about seem to have either been born with certain areas of their brains developed more than the "norm" (whatever that is) or they have just used them more.... WAY more.

Just like most computers, we have a hell of a lot of RAM that we don't use. It's there, and depending on which programs get used, it is able to use however much is needed for that program.
Some progs. can be taken to their limit ~ others are just used for convenience.
Unfortunately, most people don't have a clue as to what their brains (or computers) are capable !

The study of the brain is a FASCINATING one, and if your question was more than just rhetorical , I'm always happy to chat about it.

If this 10% myth was true.....

Then at some time humans would develop themselves to use ....say 50%....which would mean a 500% increase in brain function....

Judging by how humans have been using the 10% of our brains SO FAR....It would be easy to say there would be 500% more screw ups

Well the other 90% of our brain isn't necessarily conscious thought or intelligence at all. I believe it's mostly things like, the part that controls your heartbeat, tells you when you're hungry, stuff like that...

i believe us only using 10% of our brain is a myth... one of those things motivational speakers say to get people to realize they are not living up their potential... just look at an EEG of the brain.. the whole thing is lit up with activity, we use most of our brains for sure... but certainly we seldom live up to our potential...

First off Bush wouldn't be president. But seriously I don't think things would be that much different except we may have flying cars or something. We would just be more computer like and we wouldn't need this website.
