Sofia Rose
Maria Novella
Maya Claire
Mena Rose
For those of you that don't know, my husband and I are an inter-racial couple. He's from India and would prefer for our daughter to have an Indian name. Since our name is long and strange to the American tongue I'm trying to keep the first name as simple as possible. Our last name is KUPPUSAMY if that makes a difference. So, that's the reason Maya and Mena are on the list.
But, I'd prefer a very traditonal first name...:)))

FYI:
If you knew your saints you'd know of St. Maria Novella from Florence, Italy. As new Catholic converts we got to visit Italy when the poped died. One of our stops was Santa Maria Novella were we prayed for a baby...a family. So the name does mean something.
If you have NOTHING nice to say don't say it all.

Mena Rose
I have same situation as you. Daddy is indian, im white. Funny we looked in to Mena and almost choose it...
We decided in Mira (a princess that was a devote follower of Lord Krishna) Margaret (Margaret is my moms name) our last name is Panda. I know its funny. Oh well.

As Maria Novella means something important to you, my first instinct would be to definitely choose that, even though it's not my favourite off the list. It would be a nice story to tell though, to explain where the name came from, and gives it more importance than just a random name.
I do love the name Sofia Rose though. Though you could interchange some of them, I think Maria Rose sounds just as pretty, and you still have that important meaning, same with Sofia Novella.
I'm not keen on Mena because I'm not sure on the pronouciation, and I think if i can't pronounce it, it means that some other people will struggle to. I like Maya, but not Claire, it seems not pretty enough to go with such a nice name. Maya Rose would be better, or Maya Novella.
In the end it's up to you, but really, all of these seem nice names.
Hope some of this helps. Good luck!

I like Sofia Rose. Its flows well.
I googled it. There is a website called sofiarose.com.
Also, Novella is an Italian name (just saying that to whoever said it's not a name.). I googled that too.
Origin or novella: Of Latin origin meaning "just born."
