There are thousands of free texts at the internet archive and project gutenburg.

Visit www.archive.org.

Google also offers free books, as long as you click the radio button that says you want to view the books that are entirely online.

visit books.google.com

Finally, many libraries own subscriptions to websites like NetLibrary where their catalogue's books are online in their entirety.

Visit your local library's website, or www.netlibrary.com

First you need to download 2 things:

- A bittorrent client (for downloading the e-books)
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/azureus/Azureus_2.5.0.4a_Win32.setup.exe?download

- Microsoft reader (for opening the .lit files)
http://download.microsoft.com/download/d/0/9/d099ad62-41d1-4e92-9935-67955a437460/MSReaderSetupUSA.exe

Then find the e-book on a torrentsite
www.isohunt.com
www.torrentspy.com

In your case here is the link:
http://www.isohunt.com/download/15362538/Trials+Of+Death+Darren+Shan

if the link does not work just search on isohunt/torrentspy

Download the torrent

Wait an hour or so

Unzip the downloaded file

Open the .lit file in Microsoft reader

Start reading and have fun :D

ps. If you have an pocket pc you can read the books on your mobile. I don't read paper books, because now I always have a library in my pocket.

If you find "Trials of Death" online, it's probably illegal. It was published in 2001 and is certainly covered by copyright.

Project Gutenberg has enough free reading available for a lifetime. For anyone who wants to read Christian books, the Christian Classics Ethereal Library is a great source.
