i own a repair shop and without being ale to spend any money on it,you can take it to auto zone and have them scan the computer on it and see what comes up it may give a trouble code for whats happening to it,and its free, all it will cost you is the gas and the time, then you,ll have a better idea of what you might need to do ,but for now, with no funds to work with, your limited as to what you can do with it,good luck i hope this help,s.

i've got study a pair of surveys on that project and the outcomes have been you will get greater valuable mileage with a/c off utilising around city regardless of the undeniable fact that it did no longer incredibly say how lots. With the value of gasoline that's incredibly helpful to top off and write mileage down and run a week or so with a/c off and do same with a/c on and study mpg. The survey did teach there wasn't lots differance at highway speeds because of the fact the domicile windows down interfered with the areodynamics of the motor vehicle.

is it leaking fluid?

I had a problem with a Mercury - would not shift properly
and it was a $10 part - easy to take off and re hook the hose up to
on the side of the transmission (did it myself)

look underneath on the side of your transmission - is it wet/dirty

it is part of the vacuum line from your engine that tells the
puppy to shift - was $10 then - can't be too much more now

best of luck

and yes, if you are not shifting properly - you are gonna EAT gas !
