Humidity and Orchids?

Humdifiers? Trays? Trays w/Rocks? Heated Trays? Small Fans? What is the best set-up for small assortment of about 20-30 mixed species?

I had a friend that had good luck by putting the plants on rocks in a heated tray containing water. The heat was off during night.
