Why do Prostitutes make so much money?

Source: USA News, States they ( Ladies ) make 2,000 per day. However, A woman in Business ( General Motors, Ford, IBM, Hospitals ) average 1,100 per week. That's per week!! A Prostitute makes 14,000 per week. This is not the way it is supposed to be. America is so messed up.

Well if you'd stop to think about it, hookers charge such high rates probably because they put themselves out there LOOKING for Johns. A woman in business sits behind a desk in a secure environment, while hookers hop in and out of cars, looking for a desperate guy to pay what they're asking for. Plus, half the Johns are married men not satisfied with home life. They just want to get off quickly and keep things as quiet as possible. But, that's just what I think from watching all these cop shows.

Oh, it's very capitalistic. It's called supply and demand. Limited resource (women who want to or can be prostitutes), high demand (men's sex drive and desire for no-fuss sex).

(I say women/men because that's the majority of cases.)

Women have a vested interest in being selective about their partners and who they may (potentially) breed with. From a sociological standpoint, men do not. That is most often the reason given for women being less ready to do the deed than men. It makes some sense to me anyway. If women had the same sexual proclivities as men, there'd be very little prostitution.

That's my theory.

(Oh, and it has very little to do with "America" - it's a pretty global practice.)

Only the very high end prostitutes make that kind of money. The girls that work on street corners might make 5% of that, most of which is taken by whoever is preying on them.

Anyway, they make more because of simple supply and demand. There are millions of people out there walking around with business degrees, but there are very few women out there who are willing to sell themselves in that way who are also 10's.

lol yeah your stats are for a call girl or executive whore not a street prostitute i think lol , street whores spend there money all on crack and prob make a lot less then what you state, but if i was the woman in business id be a call girl too for the extra money :P nothing wrong witha little slurp and glurp to make some extra cash.do a little double dipping by approaching the executives wife too hahahah

Generally speaking - illegal trade have a high earning potential - partly because the risk is high.


Prostitution is not only legally risky - it's VERY personally risky. Diseases, unwanted pregnancies, getting beaten or abused or killed by clients are all factors. Jobs with high risk factors tend to pay well - because they are dangerous.

Not to mention that many women are unwilling to do that work purely because of the unpleasant aspect of letting strangers inside you, and the fact that it would "jade" sex for you. ("no thanks, honey - I gave at the office...")

Because what they do is risky and illegal.

Risky due to death (the number of prostitutes murdered annually is horrendous and under-reported, not to mention AIDS, herpes, syphilis) and risky due to loss of freedom from incarceration.

Yes, America is messed up, we know prohibition doesn't work, yet we continue to use the philosophy to "control" the sheep...er people.
