I'm a dummy with computers so please help. I have this very old laptop, which doesnt have a cd rom or a operating. When i turn on the laptop it states Error Loading Operating System. So i purchase an external cd rom drive, so when i plug it up and put the cd in. It still states Error Loading Operating System. I really dont know what to do im about to give up.

i think u dont know bios settings, check the bios settings, give ur external cdrom(usb-cdrom ----option like this in bios settings) as first priority of booting, and load the operating system,
when u tried, i think that external cd rom was not detected, and again booted from ur hard disk,
