I have a P4 3GHz system with 512MB of Ram installed (PC2700). I installed a PC3200 1GB which is backward compatible with the PC2700 and it seemed to work fine for a while, I even checked the General tab in the System Properties window and it showed that I had 1.5GB of RAM installed. All of a sudden the computer just rebooted itself and it would either reboot itself right before starting windows or it would freeze. Only one time it gave me the chance to restart it in safe mode from where it gave me an error with the video card. So I removed the 1GB memory card and now everything is back to normal however I want to be able to install more memory (it can take up to 3GB). The error I got was Error: Stop 0X000000EA Thread_Stuck_In_Device_Driver (Q293078). Should I upgrade my video card since ATI doesn't seem to have any upgrades for my card (Radeon 9200SE 128MB) and see if that fixes the problem or should I exchange the memory card?

Exchange the memory card. I dont like campatiablity cards. I've seen them not work before many times. It's just best to get the same type PC2700 that is in your system. So just exchange it for a GB of PC2700.

wow, you have a pretty nice computer and don't know too much about it. It's okay, we all start from somewhere. okay, um, no The memory on your Geforce 7800GTX stays on your 7800GTX and i would sell ur 6100 if you have u 7800GTX, its not like you could put them in SLI or anything I think thats ur question well, no you shouldn't get an overlclocked card Its a total waste of money because it cost like an extra 40 to 80 bucks more i've even seen them range to 100 dollar difference for 20mhz FOr the 7800GTX theres something called Coolbits for every single Geforce card its free and all you gotta do is Google Coolbits to learn how to access it, its straight out directions if you get a good site, but its really simple, just search osmething , and change a little (like 1 number) data. you can't mess it up But it lets you overclock. so you pay 100 bucks less and can get the same speed! woopdie doo

I would say this fault error is caused by incompatible memory. Not all memory works well together. Have you done a memory test with just one stick installed?
I know the 512 works well, as you stated, but just insert the 1GB one and see if that works.
Also try them in different DIMMS, put the 1GB in the first dimm and then if no luck try it in the second.
Also, although the memory is backward compatible does not mean it will run with a different frequency chip installed, it only means it auto adjusts to frequency supported.

there are only two thing that you can do either upgradethe driver of your video card...but as you say there is none available...i would want you to still check it one more time....and there is workaround thing that you can do to remove the problem

1.Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
2.On the Settings tab, click Advanced, and then click the Troubleshoot tab.
3.Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None, and then click to clear the Enable Write Combining check box.
4.Click OK, and then click OK.

and this should resolve the problem...if none of them work which is upgrading the driver or this then I would suggest you buying a new video card.

Why did you take the 1GB stick out? Put it back in there and take the 512 MB one out.
