I used to have flat mates at University that always used to watch what Im wearing, what Im cooking, where I've been etc.

Why the fascination?

Even where I work now - people always want to know what I have been up to..etc etc

Some people are so insecure and miserable with their own lives so they pry into other peoples..

What do you think?...and are YOU nosy?

It's a natural human instinct to be curious regardless of what it might be. There are times I am quite nosy. When I lived with my mom, after each phone call, I always asked her who it was. It was just a reaction to the unknown and I wanted to know.

I suppose I am nosy but not in an intrusive way and, if I think about it, it's because I want to compare other people's lives to my own. I suppose it's because I care what people think about me...probably is insecurity

Is it being nosy? Or are they your friends and interested in you and what you're doing?
I kinda think people are interesting creatures, and they're fun to watch. But I'm not nosy, I don't ask prying questions or anything.

Νο, Ι am not so nosy. But sometimes I need to be if the themes are concern my private life. And now I have to answer to your first question: People are miserable, chatterbox and stupid. They need to know what's happening to ur territorial life, because they do not have things to work on their lifes.

"Nosiness" is actually a mild form of eroticism. Some people get pleasure out of spying on others. This is a symptom of a voyeuristic tendency. Women have it more than men. They prefer graphic images to what you find in other people's medicine cabinets.

I think there is a fine line between being nosey and showing a genuine interest in another persons life, be grateful people care I would rather that than noone know anything about me because they just aren't interested

I think they're trying to be social or friendly. I'd give a general answer, then redirect the topic to something more appropriate. After a few times, they'll get it.
