I am deathly afraid of skin cancer, but I love the bronze glow :) This year I want to tan in a can instead of lying out in the sun. What's best to use: a spray tan, a bronzing moisturizer, or something else? What are the best products, and how much do they cost? Thanks!

whoa....... 1. you'll probably get a change after one visit, just make sure you don't go in too long and get burnt! 2. I would say around 5-7 visits depending on the strength of the bulbs at the tanner you're going to. 3. Tanning beds give you a comparable tan. 4. I would always tan in the sun if I had time! You can always do both. 5. Tans from a bed last a while once you have been regularly going I would say about a week before you are going back to normal. 6. Nothing really happens after you tan in either place except that it eventually will wear off or if you get burnt it will peel off. Thats why you have to go fairly regularly and for appropriate amounts of time.

Best not to use a tanning bed! They can become addictive, because you fall in love with the results and keep going, and obviously increase your chances of skin cancer, try a bronzing moisturizer, or maybe that semi new dove cream that tans your skin but also moisturizes it, i think it's called something like summer glow.

I've been a sun worshipper all my life. I don't know about the spray on sun tanners-I tried them once and they turned my skin orange. I will tell you one thing, although I use tanning salons, they are not at all good for you, possibly worse for your skin than natural sun. Maybe a sunscreen with a high SPF and short amount of time in the sun at a time will give you color slowly. I am blond with blue eyes - if you do decide to spend time in the sun to get a tan, be careful of your eyes if you have light eyes. In other words, do as I say not as I do LOL! If you choose tanning booths, small amounts of time a day only! Don't go there and spend 20 minutes on your first day. But honestly, I sit in the sun and use tanning booths; whatever you choose - small amounts of time to start. You do not want to burn, blister or peel.

Deciding to tan is a risk that an individual needs to consider. The best way to do it is S-L-O-W-L-Y. Resolve never to let yourself burn! If you do that, you limit the risks.

Artificial tans have the following problems: 1) They don't last long, 2) They cost money, 3) They provide NO protection from the sun the way real tan skin does.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to specify that the best tan is an ALL-OVER tan!

You should lay out by the pool in the after noon ( like at 2pm) for just 30 minutes or less every day. This way you wont burn yourself harshly in one day. Also, you can change your position or switch bathing suits so you get tan in the places you want and not be so white. OH, use a good amount of lotion.. it helps.

Please don't use those tanning beds. They're sooo bad.

Why don't you use a tanning salon. It's only about 10-20 dollars every time. That really works the best for people who need it.

get some taning oil and rub it all over your body then lay out in the sun with a bood book/psp/nitendo ds/ipod etc and lay 4 40 mins on each side. it works wonders. after that then put some after tan oil on your body to stop your body from peeling or getting burned.
