I would say over. For starters he can hit for power to all fields, and he is disciplined enough to not get homer-happy and try to pull everything. I think Pat Burrell has got his stuff together and provide Howard with some protection, and if the guys like Rollins and Utley play like they are capable of pitchers can't walk him all the time. Plus, playing in that ballpark (330 down the lines) for half his games will boost his numbers.

I'm a Phillies phan watching 162 Phillies games including 58 of 58 Ryan Howard Hrs and although they say you can only go up it couldn't be possible that he hits more. With the intentional walks he's going to get next year i say around 50 on the dot. Though the way he has been producing the offseason in Japan etc. I can only imagine how amazing he is going to be in 2007. Go Phillies!

Under. Too many variables in a long season to say anyone has a legitimate shot at hitting over 60 Hrs in a year. Now, if he can stay healthy, they don't contend and his supporting staff stays healthy than I'd say yes. But that's a lot to ask for from anybody.

I agree with "The pitchers will adjust" - Howard strikes out too much to be consistent, he will have to expand the strike zone, this will lead to more K's frustration and slumps. I will be very surprised if he hits more than 45, my guess would be 40.
If he has 10 by the end of April I may have to eat my words.

Im guessing under 60 but over 50. Probably around 54-55. Im hoping that he gets over 60, but I dont think hes gonna match last years total.

Under.... great power means little if nobody pitches to you. He has no protection behind him so no way teams will pitch to him consistantly. He will get the Barry Bonds treatment this year and end up with as many intentional walks as home runs and will likely lead the NL in walks. Because he is young that likely will frustrate him and bad habits could follow.

Would love to see him break 60 but I don't think it will happen. I'm looking somewhere between 50-55. The Phillies however will win the NL pennant!
