Unfortunately the answer to that is when you use the word 'trash' as a reference to moral, economic or behavioral deficiencies, it has the connotation of being attached to black people just like the words 'street', 'urban' and 'ghetto'. The fact that 'white' is added proves that it is intended to draw distinction from the typically associated populations of black people or other minorities. Great question. There are a lot of terms that we use that can be analyzed just like this one. Racism pervades our nations history as well as its references to popular culture and language.

every race has their own racial slur. and "white trash" is the term used for white americans. i hate it when someone says something like that to someone else. here in oklahoma they are trying to make the "n" word against the law. i hope they succeed in doing so. there will be a lot less frustration in my town.
