Absolutely yes they should. Once they learn how to support our troops, and give them the money they need to fight, then they have no buisness running this country.

No. Liberals are excersizing their civic duty to question government when they believe government has gone bad. It's a principle that this country was founded on.

If anything, the people who have led our country into a political quagmire with 90% of the rest of the world are the ones guilty of the crime of treason, because they have made it very easy for others to hate and want to attack America, and they've cost us more lives than 9/11 already, and we're not out of this yet!

I happen to love my country. I'm not sure about you though, because you seem to only love yourself, and your political party.

Interesting idea, a bit drastic, though. We don't need to agree with them, however, it is very sad that they don't realize how many DIED for their right to be ignorant.

If this country is so bad, then why are people trying so hard to get in. No other country is so accepting of everyone. My answer has only been up a couple minutes and already getting "thumbs down". Just proves the point that most liberals are close minded and don't even care to hear any opposing viewpoints.

Many members of my family either died or were injured for EVERYONES right to Free Speech.

No, we just don't think much of the way that the republicans are running the country. The current administration has nothing in common with the values that the founding fathers established. Can you see George Washington ordering us to war over faked WMD's?

So?
Without political discourse America would be nothing.
You also seem to be making the odd connection between the government of the United States of America and the United States of America

Please try to keep them straight in the future.

I am conservative, but I disagree with you. Unless they do something that is considered an act of treason, then no. Our military fights for people to have the right to think differently even though us conservatives hate and despise liberals for their views! It makes me want to reach out and slap them when I hear them talking about stupid crap, but it is not treason. Some liberals could qualify as having committed treason such as:
Jane Fonda - for meeting with North Vietnam
Sean Penn - for meeting with Iraqi insurgents
But most of them are just misguided sheep who can't think for themselves and follow whatever is PC.

Only in some kind of conservative circle-jerk masturbation fantasy-are you privy to one or something? You need to get out more and talk with folks outside the circle where you'll find that the light casts a different shadow.

Here are the definitions:

1. the offense of acting to overthrow one's government or to harm or kill its sovereign.
2. a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or to one's state.
3. the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.

I would say "no" based on the first defnition and "yes" based on the last two.

A violation of ellegience can be committed only by someone who has been hired or appointed by the government or elected by the people into a position where allegience is a function of duty, such as a military member or an elected position. Nations rely on their public servants and military for the protection of the people and need to have a means of enforcing loyalty.

"Breach of faith" means a breach of the ficudiary duty of a public servant or military member. Civilians can't be charged with this, really, because we don't have an established duty to serve. Anyone, such as Sandy Burger, who acts in a way that undermines national security has breached the faith we have in his office.

When Harry Reid has one press conference on the steps of the capital building that serves to undermine the president, it's just politicing. When he is on the steps daily for months, he is intentionally undermining the Executive branch of government and endanger the people in a time of war. He has committed treason, especially if it can be shown that he intentionally manipulated facts in the process.

Other actions by democrats aren't so clear, but it does make you wonder why we keep electing them, doesn't it? Obviously the people don't have any clarity on what makes our nation strong internally, and when they elect these minions to office, the voters are saying they prefer disunity to strength of numbers and unity.

(I mean, isn't obvious by now that democrats will oppose anything Bush does simply on the grounds that Bush is doing it?)

You have a deluded idea of Liberals. We think a lot of this country. We think very little of right-wing jerks and their policies, which are ruining this country. And for THAT we get accused of treason by people who think they are the veritable embodiment of America when, in fact, they are unfit to BE Americans!

2007-02-18 05:46:37 · answer #10 · answered by Anonymous · 1 4

No, on the contrary. By your tone, I assume you are referring to people who question their leaders and are skeptical of some of the decisions being made.

That, my friend, is a good citizen. It is not treason to care enough about this country to criticize those who are systematically destroying democracy.
