I doubt this to be true.
Reaching an orgasm or not during masturbation or sex are two different situations.
I do not believe one impedes upon the other. However if masturbation has become obsessive to the point of nearly replacing intercourse, then perhaps you'll find more pleasure in reaching a climax, through masturbation primarily.
