three people in picture is curse ?

Hi,
My parents kept on saying do not take pictures of three people but I don't know why. I asked then but they don't them me though. Anyone knows why ?

It might be some sort of superstition with them. Like lighting 3 cigarettes with one match was supposed to be bad luck. But never heard it about taking photographs.

I never heard of that and if it's true then I've been cursed so many times then!
