I found a female flower horn at local store that's insanely aggressive. It trys to attack me through the glass every time I visit the store. Its like this every time I visit. Its about 6 or 7 inches. She's been there forever & she's $180, though they seem open to negotiating the price down to around $140. I'd like to haver her as the only fish in my 55 or wide 36 gal corner but I think it may be too small of a tank. It doesn't look like she's been growing much. They're keeping her in like a 15 gal tank which seems way too small.

i have a female fh and she is 5 in long, iv had others too and their sizes have been around 7-10 in. in my 125 gal. Your flowerhorn is prob full grown or might grow another 2-3 in. I think your tanks will accomidate her nicly, just make sure there are no other fish in her tank.

They get to 12 inches, seeing as the standard 55 gallon is 12 inches wide, she would struggle to turn around. It would cause spinal problems down the road.

But that being said, that is way better then the 15 gallon she is in now. If she is the only fish in the tank, you might be able to keep her in there and have her do just fine. Just make sure you have heavy filtration and don't miss a water change.

They can reach up to 12", a 12" flowerhorn is a huge one that has lived for most of its pretty long life. Males also tend to get a bit bigger then females. On a realistic level you are looking at your female growing to about 8-10" within the next several years and the 55 gallon is certainly an adequate home for one.

Look, Those flower horns are aggressive but $140-180? That's an insane amount to pay! I stick by my guns, the RED SNAKEHEAD is still, by far, more aggressive then your flower horn, Cheaper too!! You can get one 6 or 7 inches for under $50 and it will make a meal out of your flower horn!
