i don't know how they live is it a short live?
As you get attached to cute little hamsters and they live from 1 yr to 3 .
A vet could do a post motem don't know if its costly ,but some times you just don't notice illness in your animals and puff they have gone.
Sorry to hear you just lost your pet maybe look for other web pages on the subject maybe other owners have had the same thing happen to them.

different types of substrate can bind a dragon but the last actions you described sound more in the way of a nervous disorder that can be caused by some sort of poison or insecticide. did anyone handle her after cleaning something like a toilet or laundry soap, bleach etc. it could have been absorbed through the skin or if you used tank decorations from outside maybe bug spray. with the labored breathing and seizure (fitted)and relative quickness of death most likely something affected her nervous system. a stroke is also likely. I am sorry for your loss.

I raise Leopard geckoes which are similar to dragons only because they are lizards.
The substrate I use is crushed walnut shells that I get from a company in California. If you used a calcium or granite substrate, it could be that your dragon was impacted. This can cause a sudden death. Another cause could have been contaminated crickets or worms or something else that it ate.
Other than that, I don't have enough info about your dragon. Sorry about your loss, butter luck with your next one.
(Disinfect the complete tank before putting another lizard in that area.)

I would talk to your vet. Having an understanding of what may have caused this will help you bring closure, and make you more knowledgable if you own any others, or plan to.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss :(

could be many reasons, can you get your vet to do a post mortem? most will do one quite cheap, and it will give you piece of mind especially if you have other reps.

my son's beardie died in similar circumstances. we never found out what happened to him and my son was devastated. as lizards are quite dirty creatures i wondered if ours didn't die because it picked up some kind of infection after drinking out of the water bowl that he kept pooing in. we gave fresh water daily and always changed the water when he'd used it as a toilet!
