It sounds like arthritis to me.

my mom has OsteoArthritis and the only thing you can do is take something to restore the joint material. What your mom has sounds like Rheumatoid Arthritis which causes the deformities you are describing.

There are products that work to prevent further deterioration of the joints and the ingredients are Gloucosamine and Chondroitin.

It will maintain the material that makes up the joints and therefore prevent further damage, but it will not undo existing deformity.

I'm sorry. My father has a pinky that has twisted the same way and it doesn't move at all anymore. It looks like a twisted tree branch and is completely rigid.

There are doctors who can help, even if you can't pay. Look for them. Your mother's hands are worth the effort, even if she can't find an affordable treatment, then she has to find treatment that she cannot afford. I think I'd rather have a mountain of medical bills than two hands that don't work.

PS I don't think stealing is okay, but the Gloucosamine chondroitin pills are at places like Walmart and Walgreen's etc. I only say this because the pills are very expensive and sometimes you gotta do, what you gotta do.

Good luck and peace!

The fact that the finger is deforming and has a bump on it - it sounds like rheumatoid arthritis. If only one finger is deformed then it's likely in earlier stages. Unfortunately you won't be able to much for it without going to a doctor.

This also gives a link to a quiz you can do to see if it's really rheumatoid arthritis.
Good luck.

She has to go see a doctor. Could be RA or any other form of arthritis. My fingers are growing like a twig (growing to the left, right, bending at the joint) and it is so very painful!!
She really needs to see someone...

arthritis would be my guess. the crippling kind. no cure yet. doctors just treat the pain. there are natural treatments for arthritis. honey is just one of them--a tablespoon a day. not sure if this will help with deformity already there. burdock root and alfalfa are good for arthritis. good luck.
tell your mom to drink plenty of water.

The local library should have a copy of The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. If not it is only $20.00 there is a section on arms and hands. The book deals with muscles, pain and referred pain and teaches you what to do.

Arthritis?

Uh, have her keep it straight (tape a pencil to it or such) for 2 weeks. Put ice on it to help the swelling go down.

If it's healing crooked, though, then she needs to see a doctor.
