alright my husband and i are expecting our second child (boy). I think we'll use Ricardo as a middle name (i know the name is a little werid, but its five generational family name that ended with my dad - and since he didn't have any sons - i thought it might be sweet to give his grandson ricardo as a middle name). i figured the middle name was safe since we mainly go by first and last names - the middle names are just there and a little obscure. Does the first name have to flow with the middle? does anyone have a couple suggestions for a first name? our last name is LaRoche and my maiden name is Price (if that helps). Thanks!

I wanted to emphasize that we are giving the baby the name Ricardo as a middle name. From my knowledge middle names are rarely used - and we would just call the baby by the first name. for example, i'm lauren elizabeth - but i go by lauren, and very few people know what my middle name is.

I agree- I love the fact that you are using a family name- my hubby and I don't have kids yet, but our names will definitely carry on some family ones as middle names. I love your last name, BTW!

The first name does need to flow with the middle name, however. So, when using "Ricardo" you need to find a first name that isn't too verbally heavy or complicated. Choosing names with similar patterns and syllables (such as Chris-to-pher Ri-car-do LaRoche- with 3 syllables each) has a pleasing sound and rolls off the tongue. Using first and middle names with the same syllables is a great idea.

Using a first name with similar sounds (such as Robert Ricardo LaRoche) may be harder to say...It is all about dictic patterns and syllables...

Some names that go well with _______ Ricardo LaRoche would be:

Jonathan Ricardo LaRoche
Christopher Ricardo LaRoche
Samuel Ricardo LaRoche
Isaiah Richardo LaRoche
Joshua Ricardo LaRoche
Matthew Ricardo LaRoche
Jeremiah Ricardo LaRoche
Alexander Ricardo LaRoche
Daniel Ricardo LaRoche
Caelan (or Caedan) Ricardo LaRoche

Hope one of those helps or gives you an idea!

Congrats on baby number 2! You are completely right about middle names not being used very often. Only in the early years will the middle name be asked. Most people don't ask adults, "Oh, what is your middle name?"

I think it is very important to keep family naming traditions going, withiin reason of course. :) I didn't name my son a fourth. :) I do plan on giving my daughter (if I have one) my middle name which has been passed down for 4 generations.

Maybe:
Preston Ricardo LaRoche
Collin Ricardo LaRoche
Benjamin Ricardo LaRoche
Caden Ricardo LaRoche
Cameron Ricardo LaRoche
Mason Ricardo LaRoche
Nicholas Ricardo LaRoche
Quinn Ricardo LaRoche
Hayden Ricardo LaRoche

Good Luck. I hope these helped! SD

Hey, my name is Lauren Elizabeth, too! But I think that it's sweet that you want to carry on the tradition with the name Ricardo, but it is a little hard to find a first name to go with that. Maybe Joshua Ricardo LaRoche, Nicholas Ricardo LaRoche, or Matthew Ricardo LaRoche. I think those all flow well with Ricardo.
Good Luck and Congratulations!

How about Ricardo Price LaRoche? James Ricardo, Price Ricardo? Edward Ricardo, Lawrence Ricardo, John Ricardo, Ricardo Edward? I personally like Ricardo Price which incorporates your father's name and yours. You could call him Ricky for short. Good Luck!
