Definitely the children. Who else can look after them like we do. My kids always come first even before me.

Your spouse is your partner in life and in raising your children so your relationship should stay as important after children as it was before them. Together, you raise the children and one day you 2 will be alone again. If you put your children first and neglect your spouse, you will be in trouble when that time comes.I think it's a touchy subject and very hard to answer. I just know that you can't let your relationship fall apart because children come along. Of course the children should be the most important thing in your lives together. In a good stable relationship there would be no competition for attention. Of course your children are innocent and unable to take care of themselves so their needs must be met before anything else. It is hard to balance but I think care must be taken to keep your relationship solid while raising your children.

If you are talking about just in general, then your spouse somes first. A husband and wife are the foundation of the marriage. If that falls apart there is no family. Then the kids suffer badly. I know kids have needs, I have three kids of my own. But if you ask kids what they want most of all, it is for their mom and dad to be together and to be happy. If you ALWAYS put the kids first, this is not going to happen. Use some common sense.

Isn't it weird that we get married and once we have kids the spouses move down on the priority list. If it wasn't for the spouse we wouldn't have the kids in the first place but I think it's just natural to have parental protective instincts to put the kids first. I would have to say the kids too....

you have to take care of yourself before you can be a good parent.
they save the mother's life before the baby's.
on the airplane, what does the staff tell you, if we lose cabin pressure, put this over YOUR nose and mouth then help your children.
logically, if the parents survive, they can then have more children.
on any stress test, points are bad, and you get the most points for your spouse dying.
having said all that, no man better dare ask me to choose him over my children.

My gut feeling is the spouse, but even in the animal kingdom the
mother always and some of the papas give all to protect the
offspring -- your call

the children. The spouse can look after him/herself, but a child is legally your responsibility til they`re 18.

Your children. You're their mother & they completely rely on you for everything.
If you let them down, they will remember it when they're older. Do what's right & be a good mom.
You don't always get a second chance to prove your love for them.

Mrs Bad Grumbles. She is COOL and she knows how to drive a jukebox. Nuff said.
Seriously: children; they must have priority.
