my suggestion is to keep an eye on what happens when it disconnects. could be a problem in the modem internally rebooting the connetion. could be the ethernet card your using, could be a cross connection in the cables. might suggest scouting out the wiring and cables makre sure the internet is on and jiggle things around a bit see if it disconnect, then try a new card, there like $20 some even cheaper if that dont work request a new modem from your isp. shouldn't cost you anything.

Sometimes in time. Some internet providers will knock you off for inactivity. Sometimes your computer will get inacurate information from the line and dissconnect. Sometimes because of static.

Maybe your wire might be loose or it is not getting proper suply,if u have garranty card so give them.
