I think it has...It ended my 34 year marriage :o(

Yes, because the internet has done two things: It has increased the opportunity a married person has of running into someone of the opposite sex that they think they are attracted to. Also, the internet creates this artificial fantasy world that real life just can't compete with. I feel very strongly that when we marry someone, its a commitment to walk through life together, including all of the drudgework and boredom and battles that go along with it from day to day. People wrap themselves up in the internet world, and it seems like a place where people can express their wildest fantasies and live them out...how on earth can daily life compete with this?

But also, the definition of cheating is under debate, and seems now to include cybersex and chat room flirting and emailing. People are getting their lives all gummed up with the online stuff, it is hurting their spouses, and hurting marriages. I wish people would get back to living a simpler life, one where we took more joy in even the mundane day to day activities that really is what life is about.

I guess that depends on your point of view.....as far as I'm concerned, YES, because to me, cheating can be emotional before its ever physical. As soon as someone is spending more time emotionally invested in someone, you're cheating. If you're off hiding in some chat room, and not with your spouce, you're cheating....not only on your partner, but on yourself....get out of the chat room and have a "real" relationship!

Yes, undoubtedly.
There is oppurtunity at your fingertips, and a way to keep it confidential. What more do u need to feel at ease with giving in to your selfish little desires?
