He wanted to spend more time w/his daughter. I know, I'm sad about it too. What's S09.
You know they cancelled the show? When it starts in April, that will be the last season. Rick will make a couple of appearances in SG-1 and Atlantis, then that will be it. Check out http://www.rdanderson.com/ for more info on what he's doing.

Yeah, I did a report on him last year (yes, sad, I know) and he reportedly wanted to take off time to be with his family, raise his daughter, etc. Apparently he was also considering doing other things but not much of that's happened...

He wanted to spend more time in LA with his family, and writing MacGuyver screen plays.
