Im in my 8th month and leaking colostrum like a drippy faucet with no washer. I asked the Doc if this is ok he said some women just do it. The other day was in the shower and boyfriend was frisky and got an eye full cause it shot out so hard. I am totally freaked out what it will be like when i get the real milk in... I think i'll have the pump on day in and day out. My kid will be so fat. Maybe I can start my own milk store.

It took about 24-48 hours but it's still important to have your baby breastfeed even if you don't have milk right away. The initial fluid that you have is called colostrum and is vital to your baby. It is high in nutrients so even if you're not able to produce milk, continue to feed your baby by breast. Not only is it good for the baby but it also aids in helping the milk come sooner. Check out this site to give you a better explanation on why colostrum is so good for the baby.

Good luck!

Your milk comes in AFTER birth, not before. What you get before is colostrum, aka pre-milk. For the first couple of days, this is what your baby will be eating-it has lots of antibodies in it to help baby's immune system. If you've gone a week after giving birth and your milk hasn't come in, contact your doctor, because your baby could be losing precious weight.

About 24 hours, but it wasn't a lot. After about 3-4 days, that's when it was just pouring out!

I was leaking a LOT of colostrum by my 4th month of pregnancy. Had to wear nursing pads and everything, so I never noticed when my colostrum switched to true milk.

I had tons of colostrum the first 24 hours (had to pump due to premature baby in NICU), then it took another 24 hours for my milk to come in.

my wife- 2 days ( we have a 6 day old boy) and now it wont stop.

Painful
advice- get a sock ,put a cup of rice in it and tuck the ends in. Microwave it till it gets nice and warm and put on your breast while nursing.
