I would think that it would--I have never had insomnia so I can not say for sure

Yes, I have insomnia. When I get very little or no sleep I'm like a zombie.

Depends on what you have to do, if it is typical rote sort of stuff my brain can do it on auto-pilot, but if it is creative or new stuff I have to reach for teh coffee and hope for the best.
