Um throughout my life I am so used to being deep and talk and ask anything I want from sex to feelings and none of my friends minded that. Well I went to a secular college and boy people hate that you know if you ask them a question about sex or anything deep. Why is that?I don't go up to someone I just met and ask them that I only ask my friends.

My other friends that are so comfortable with me are either Christian or Mormon.

First, don't put yourself down by saying that your question is dumb. Okay? So, here's my input to your question. The bottom line is that every person on the face of the earth is different. In fact, one person may have a different mood on different days. So, don't get yourself worked up based on another person's way of doing or not doing things. Be flexible, and allow yourself to be adjustable to other people's ways. Don't take anything personal. If not, you will always feel hurt, betrayed, ignored , rejected, flustered, etc. You will NEVER have peace. I know you want to be happy, so, only talk about issues with people who are willing to respond.

Some people are very uncomfortable talking about sex and personal matters, and just because you are very open about it,you should respect the fact that some people are not.Talk to your friends that don't mind how you are,but as far as other people that are not so comfortable with it,find other things to talk about.Don't expect people to be on the same page as you are all the time. Some people consider certain things to remain personal, and they don't like to be put on the spot to answer a question they don't want to, or feel is none of your business. So I suggest you take that into consideration, the next time you feel the need to bring up an uncomfortable topic for some people.

If you are going from a religious ( non-secular) school to a non-religious (secular) school, it could be that people think you are judging them or trying to change them or their views when you try to talk to them about those subjects. This is especially true if you are convinced that your view on these issues is right. For instance if you beleive that sex before marriage is wrong, people that have sex before marriage might see you as narrow-minded, self righteous or condescending if you try to tell them that it is wrong. People from religious schools often seem brain-washed and jugemental to non-religious people. Try to keep an open mind when you talk to people and don't ever preach to people and you should be fine.

I would stick to asking very deep questions only to people who have tolerance towards that. If you have friends that don't mind having these discussions with you then stick to having those conversations with them. It sounds like you need to be more conservative as to what you say to people who go to school at this secular college.

You have come upon hard times, My Dear!! Welcome to High School. The place is rife with gossip and you don't stand a chance of keeping any secrets!! Stop asking the kind of questions that aren't working there. You certainly can't change the school-----------so You have to change. Hope you held on to your old friends because they are totally different! Good Luck! @8-)

Secular = narrow minded. People at those kind of schools are just extremely sheltered and don't like to think about things that are "controversial."

You should never EXPECT anybody to behave in a certain way!

Right now...you're in a larger group of people...and all of 'em AREN'T going to respond the way you want or EXPECT THEM TO!

Maybe you should do a little more listening...than asking? Your perspective about certain things MIGHT CHANGE?
