If you started your own wrestling show, what would it be called?

If you starred in it, what would your name be? What would your finisher be? Who would be on your roster? what storylines would you have? What rivalries would you form? What tag teams would be made?

My wrestling show would be called UWG (Ultimate Wrestling Gauntlet). My name would be the one, the only! My finisher is called the gory sleeper because it consists of both the sleeper and gory special put together. My roster would consist of all my friends, me, the Hardyz, D-X, John Cena, Batista, the bros. of Destruction, Hulk Hogan, Abyss, The Great Khali, Umaga, Rey Mysterio, Lashley, RVD, Big Show, and Crime Time. The rivalries I'd have would be D-X vs. Bros. of Destruction, Cena vs. Batista, Great Khali vs. Big Show, Hulk Hogan vs. Abyss, Lashley + Rey vs. Hardyz. Storylines i would use would be Test of Strength for the two big guys, the best tag team in UWG between DX and Bros. of D, the Battle for Hardcore Respect - Lashley + Rey vs. Hardyz.

Ok....that's a lot of question for your five points there. :) Do keep in mind though that by publishing this stuff in writing I *do* legally assert copyright over what follows.

I wouldn't directly star in my own wrestling show. It isn't because I am rather plain-looking in real life (I am), I mean, I can work a camera, but...

Well, you tell me, would it be wrong for the *male* owner of an all-women's trampoline wrestling group to involve himself in the matches? :p Exactly. I'd be the owner, manager on the sidelines. Why? Because I am *way* too old and beat up to possibly be a rookie wrestler in this stage of my life, sorry (too many old injuries to shoulders, knees and ankles...never mind that I'd need a year's steady rehab and exercise to be ring-worthy).

As for the business.....it would be called the Knockout Dolls. It is inspired in equal parts by Kaiju Big Battel (tm) and Shojo anime.

The idea is to have a bunch of cute, younger women actually *do* the costume play (a.k.a. cosplay) thing outside of the ring, including taking some character and plot ideas from anime and manga, and then inside the ring.....

You have something going on that is a *bit* more vertical than regular classical professional wrestling. Exploit the extra bounce of the trampoline, and basically create a "competition" that looks more like a hybrid of Lucha Libre acrobatics/high-flying, and kickboxing. In terms of finishers, the idea is to focus mainly on high-risk (and high-airtime) maneuvers, along with more super-kicks and quick reversals than you can shake a stick at. Again, think *vertical* (off the trampoline and its safety rollcage) and not horizontal (not so much about ring ropes and turnbuckles).

In other words, if there were *pinfalls* at all in my organization, they'd only be legal *after* a high-flying maneuver (meaning both feet leave the ground for more than one full second). The emphasis, aside from that, would be on knockouts or knockdowns after the manner of full-contact karate or kickboxing.

Why change things so much? Because it makes the ladies *look better*. ^_^ If there is one thing I learned about both GLOW and about the decay of women's wrestling in the WWE's attitude era, it is that you really *cannot* have cute women go hard and *wrestle* like the fellows do, not without steroids being at work, and not without the women getting the boy-jaw thing going on (not attractive).

Grappling...high impact throwing and rolling for a submission both require way more strength than what most athletic women want to build. So if you want to do sports entertainment for women and do it well, you focus on things that don't demand so much muscle. Like the aerial tactics, the super-kick, the standing quick reversals....play to their strengths. Focus on something that is more about skill and endurance, less about the WWE *power and mass* game.

And focus on the natural edge most women have in charisma over the fellows. ^_^ Or, failing that....start stuffing bras for more bounce. :P Whatever works.

And about tag teams. They wouldn't work like tag teams do in classical pro wrestling either (kinda hard to make it work that way when your "squared circle" really *is* a circle, isn't it?). The teams would essentially work like an Endurance or Gauntlet match...you have a team, they decide who goes first, second, third, and so on....and basically it goes like a fighting game (Capcom vs. SNK, for example) in that the first people go first, and then get eliminated as they lose, working down to the next members....

And yup, it wouldn't just be pairs. The "Demolition Rule" would be in effect, any number of ladies could join the team, so long as the number is two or more....but not more than six. This way you can put some drama back into the thing that would be lost in the absence of the tag-in-tag-out mechanic.

In other words....It would be *very* different. So different it just might work. But I'd have to win the lottery to get the seed money to start. Among other things. And yes, I admit I am a strange one....most of you wrestling folks are already about ready to strangle me, so I'll stop for now.

I don't get what you mean by finisher?Do you mean as a wrestler or how I would end the show?

carlito and ric flair
ect. ect.
