Good question. I am of an age where I don't have 50 years left----unless some new "pill" comes along that will let you live well into your 100's....
I had thoughts like yours when I was younger, as a teen, a mother and wife, now a grandmother. I had a wonderful career in a business I loved and have been retired for 2 years - and enjoying every minute of it (although, I would like to have more "fun money").
It is good to contemplate your future. Questions like yours and others like "what do I want to do with my life" and "will I be happy and successful" means that you are really thinking about yourself as a human being. Don't ever stop.
Meanwhile, remember that "life" is what happens to you when you are busy planning something else. Be a good person, be charitable, love your family, if you decide to have children - raise them well and love them more than they need. Be respectful to those around you, be involved in your community, do well at your work and be honest. Be prepared to have obstacles placed in your way and learn how to overcome them. Don't let anyone "bring you down"......
You are going to be amazed at how short life is. The older you get, the faster it goes....so don't be in a big hurry. Enjoy the moment, savor the experience of "right now" - don't miss a moment of it because you can never call it back.

Not really, I think about where I'll be in 5 or 10 years... but in 50? Hopefully I'll have retired, settled down and lived a successful life.
