Well, I am 33 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I was dx w/ gallstones in December. I have very painful attacks. I have seen a surgeon and they will take my gallbladder out after I deliver. Within the last week, I have had 4 attacks total w/ continued pain even after attack subsides. I went to see my OB Thursday and told him. He did more bloodwork and they called to say I had increased levels of something. I am scheduled for another ultrasound tomorrow to check my gallbladder and Pancreas. I know that if a stone has gotten lodged in my bile duct it can affect my Pancreas. I am wondering if my pancreas is inflamed or infected, will they deliver me early? My OB told me that if I go into labor at 35 weeks or more he would not stop me. But if I have another complication would they induce me? Anyone deal with this or know someone who has? I have had a very rough pregnancy. Dealing with nausea and vomiting for first 3 months then the gallstones and still vomiting at least twice a day. Advice, Thx!

Thanks, I have heard about having to go to the bathroom alot. I have changed the way I eat. No fried foods, fatty, or spicy. I really only eat oatmeal and a banana for breakfast, soup and sandwhich for lunch and maybe a grilled pc of chicken, brown rice, steamed corn for supper. If I can hold it down. Alot of times I just eat a baked potato. Can't eat much these days and no matter what I eat, I still have attacks.

This is a great medical site that will give you information that may help you.It tell about the pancreas to. And is wonderful after you have the baby for any medical questions to. I would advise putting it in your favorites. then you can pop on the computer when the baby or you needs a little advise.

Before you have surgery:
Unless your doctor advises otherwise, eat a healthy diet by following a good Food Guide. Your vits may need increased to. Ask the doctor on your next visit.

Include a variety of foods from all four food groups.
Choose high fibre foods like whole grains, fruits and vegetables more often.
Have 2 to 4 servings of milk and milk products each day. A serving is one 250 ml (8-ounce) glass of milk, 50 grams (1½ ounces) of cheese, or 175 ml (¾ cup) of yogurt.
Eat 2 to 3 servings of meats, poultry, fish and dried peas, beans and lentils each day. One serving is 75 grams (2 ½ ounces) of meat, fish or poultry; or 2 eggs; or 175 ml (3/4 cup) beans; or 150 grams (3/4 cup) tofu; or 30 ml (2 Tbsp) peanut butter.

A diet too low in fat can lead to gallstone formation.

Do not try to eliminate fat from your diet, but do limit the fat you use at the table and in cooking to less than 6 teaspoons (30 ml) each day. For more information on different kinds of fats and how to include healthier fats in your diet, see Dietary Fats and Your Health.
Choose lower fat dairy products like 1% and skim milk and yogurt, lower fat cheese (less than 20% milk fat) and low fat sour cream.
Eat lean meats and poultry (remove skin) and choose lower fat alternatives like lentils, chickpeas and tofu often.
Limit amounts of high fat desserts and snacks like cookies, commercial baked goods and chocolate.
After you have surgery:
After you have gallbladder surgery, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise, go back to your normal healthy diet with a moderate amount of fat. You do not need your gallbladder for normal digestion of food.

Good luck hun i know how bad your feeling. I had mine out at age 22 after i gave birth to my son. hang in there!!!!!

I have had my gallbladder out last year, the best thing I can advise that helped me avoid attacks before you can have yours removed are:

avoid anything excessivly greasy, fatty, heavy w/dairy products as this will aggravate your gallbladder attacks. Drinking lots of water helped a little bit also with a plain piece of bread or white rice.

I can only imagine what you are going through and I have you in my prayers. That time when I went through my attacks was one of the most painful points in my life.

I also want to give you a heads up: once they do remove your gallbladder you will more than likely have bathroom issues for a long time (aka: running off to use the facilities at a moments notice)
