He was in office during Funeralgate. This was the scandal where Service Corporation International - whose owners were friends and supporters of the Bush family - were found to have desecrated the remains of a number of human beings by recycling graves. Bush may have tried to stop the investigation into the manner, and the judge refused to allow attorneys to compel Bush to testify in this matter.

Yes. I seem to recall reading that during the time he was governor of Texas, he put to death more death row prisoners than any governor before (or since). Of course, there are no doubt some wankers out there who think this is a good thing...

He signed away restrictive laws passed by the former (D) Governor ( who levied two gasoline taxes on us, and lied about where lottery procedes would go).
Bush was a better Gov. than either Ann Richards (D) or Gov. Perry (R).
You might note that ,unlike Kennedy (1), or Mrs Clinton ( 47), Bush has no personal body count. I guess that's a distinction, but certainly one that should be a warning beacon.

His biggest contribution to Texas was running for president and therefore allowing them to elect someone else to the office who could accomplish something.

What?? And why are you so worried about him now? In another yr another election. Shouldn't you be focusing on whats comming up? Thats how you guys lost the last presidential election. You focused so much on bashing you didn't focus on your election.
