i try to follow politics and stay fairly up to date on the issues..i realize this is a free country, (america,) and that celebrities have just as much right to an opinion as anybody else, however, listening to them air their agenda sickens me..why? because if you listen to them they may be passionate about an issue, but generally so biased as to be laughable..however people listen to them because of their celebrity status...when i listen to them talk about an issue, one that i have taken an interest in and have researched, i cringe at the way they are embarassing..but they don't know it and neither do most viewers...people believe the celebrity is knowledgable simple because they are in front of a camere and have an audience..but with our media hore rating country it will never end, and people will go on listening to and believing little informed but camera accessable celebrities simply because of their status..most average people don't have the money to have their opinions aired in

You're right. Being a talented actor or singer does not give a person insight into world events. In fact, artists are often not good at this sort of thing. It's not a criticism. Most good statesmen/women are not very good artists either.
I like to appreciate people for what they do well. And I appreciate it when people do not pretend to be experts in areas which they do not understand.

It's a tough ground. On one hand they are probably right about what's going on and it's good to be aware.

BUT, I would have to agree with you. Honestly, I have a problem with Bono yelling at Bush (a man with whom I am indifferent) about what America is not doing. I wish he would try to highlight what we are doing in the world. But this isn't even the kicker, after Bono yells at Bush he then goes home to his cushy mansion some place. What a hypocrite!! Please never yell at Bush or anyone else about being sold out to some WORTHY cause and then only to prove that you are not all that sold out to it either. Just because you are a celebrity does not give you cause to have your opinion up and centre stage.

I hate it now, but I'll enjoy it when I see these people on E being exposed for their real lives!

Thanks for touching on this topic!

in the event that they think of that's significant, I see no longer something incorrect with celebrities speaking up their political agendas. I do see a topic with human beings believing what a action picture star tells them devoid of thinking for themselves. human beings tend to place celebrities on pedestals, that's amazingly idiotic. For activities stars, rock stars, and film stars are gifted yet all are doing what quantities to basic jobs devoid of any actual psychological standards.

I prefer to believe that most Americans are sophisticated enough about the issues to make their own decisions without due influence from someone's celebrity status. I know I am.

We live in highly politicized times, and its natural to discuss whats bothering you at the time of the interview, for some this means that once you disagree with them you no longer support their on screen or on air activities, and that's up to you. If you support that conservative movement you aren't so up in arms if Patrica Heaton speaks out or, Heston waves his gun, so allow the Micheal Moores equal time with the Ann Coulters of the world and listing to the wonderful sound of an active democracy.
