Hi, Raziya. Child labour is certainly a social malady. Mere legislations cannot cure this. The economic conditions of the family forces the parents to send their children to work and get some money as the supplementory inocme to the family. Once the young hands start to earn, you cannot divert their minds towards education. The employers are also benefitted because they get the human labour at cheaper rates. So, the society as a whole should realise the ills and evils of the child labour and take serious steps in encouraging compulsory education upto the age of 14 years to all as guaranteed by our Constitution.

Every one of us should imagine our own child as a child labour, its difficulties and hunger. After realization we may not engaged childrens as a labour rather some may kind enough to help them.

actually we should not stop child labour..small not hazardous jobs could help him her understand the importance and builds confidence and some finanacial help to a poor family with out hindring his her studies. i guess the entire approach and the way we indians define child labour need to change....even though from an upper middle class family i used to work for my grandad during vacations and evenings even at an age of 8-10 ...and all these helped me to be more successful and determined in being a better human being who value the importance of small small things you learn to survive

If we can eliminate the demand for child labor, we can stop child labour. But this is one of those issues easy to say but hard to do.

Child Labour has to be stopped by the Employers ant not by any authorities

The only way to do that is to educate them that by employing these children they are stealing away their bright future in exchange of cheap labaour

and no one has the right to steal ones bright future from them, They need education, its their right, its their right to have an oppurtunity to lead a successful life

stop it? stop paying for it. stop buying those low priced goods from asia.

that said, why do you want to stop it, and what would be the results of stopping it? consider: mr and mrs x___ have three children. mr x___ earns the avg wage in his country of equivalent $1 us per day. housing takes half or more of that scant food takes the other half. how do they clothe themselves? buy medicine? save anything? luckily the two older boys earn $.50 per day each, doubling the household income. with this extra money they not only subsist, but may even progress. why would you take this from them?

it's a tough question though. on the one hand it seems mistreatment, on the other it's just doing what must be done.

I agree with GOLDEN. This question is hard to answer. There r many children who need to work at least it should be allowed to 12 and above. More emphatiss should be given what kind of work could be permit for them.
