Its probably just that you are so used to speaking in the manner that a therapist requires, that you have begun to do it even outside the office. Seven years is a long time. Don't think you are crazy. Long periods of time doing anything will make it habitual. But I think maybe what you need to ask is why you are still in therapy? If your therapist has not helped you in 7 years time, maybe therapy isn't the answer you are looking for. Try to really ask yourself if you are still wanting this therapist to help you, or if it has just become something that you are so used to doing that you have the fear to stop. Do you really want this therapy to help you, or do you just enjoy telling someone about your problems? If you have been in this rut that is so bad that you need therapy, and it has taken you 7 years, and you are still going, maybe you need to ask yourself if you are really wanting to change this part of yourself that you beleive needs therapy. You can't change unless you want to.You need to ask yourself what kind of pleasure you are getting from this therapy. If you don't want to change yourself, but still enjoy the therapy, that's fine. But if you really do want to change, maybe you should find another way to go about it.
