There are several! The best in my opinion is Full Metal Jacket. That thing is so real and uncensored. Another good film that deals with the life of a vet when he gets back to civilization is Born on the 4th of July. Thats a tough movie to watch. Then you have the sort of funny side with Good Morning Vietnam. This is a lighter film on the subject with funny parts but still capturing some of the real issues. Then there is the Deer Hunter which paints a nasty picture about what a POW goes through in captivity. These are all very good films. But if you like action I suggest Full Metal Jacket. It encompasses the whole aspect of a Marine from basic training to touching foreign soil. Hope this helped.

Have you ever seen Heaven and Earth?
It's told from the viewpoint of a young vietnamese woman during the war and a bit after.
It has Tommy Lee Jones in it.
It's amazing!
It doesn't have anything to do with Hippies though.
You might also be interested in "The 60's"... it had some about the war in it also.... that girl from Save the Last Dance was in it.

Full Metal Jacket has a little bit of that going on, what with the soldier wearing a peace symbol on a helmet that he wrote "Born to Kill" on.

Good morning America or was it Good Morning Vietnam, I forget which. Also parts of Forrest Gump show footage of that time.
