One of the pilots with Christopher Columbus, Pedro Alonso Nino, was, so some historians believe, a colored man. Pedro Alonso, called THE NEGRO, b. in Moguer, Spain, in 1468 ; d. about 1505. and was a companion of Christopher Columbus in his third voyage

Of course some belive that the Nigerian peoples arrived in South America before 1492 but not recorded by history.
