I'd like to spend some 6 months or more in the USA,possibly in LA.I live in Italy and this has been a dream of mine since I was a child. How could I make it come true?Of course I cannot afford such a long vacation so I'm just askink for any possible way to do it without spending a fortune.
Thanks and greetings from Italy.

You are under no obligation to become a naturalized U.S. citizen. Once you successfully remove the conditional status of your green card and obtain a 10-year card (which is renewable every 10-years), you're all set. You never have to apply for any immigration benefit again. Of course, the 10-year card will expire, but you can just apply for a replacement. You are free to keep your Australian passport and citizenship the rest of your life. You don't HAVE to become a U.S. citizen. There's nothing wrong with being proud of your current nationality and having allegiance to Australia.
