I had an ex-boyfriend tell me he once had a belly piercing. I told him I thought it was gay and asked him if he was, but he said no. To me, he was suspect, but I have no idea. He's an ex now, but I'm just wondering what you guys (gay and straight) thought about naval piercings on guys? I personally think it's more of a gay thing. Maybe I'm wrong??

By the way, this guy doesn't have any other piercings. Just one in his belly. No tattoos or any other body art.

Totally gay..women are the only ones who sacrifice pain for beauty. When men do it their gay. Nothing wrong with it if you are but a straight man should not have any piercings . Maybe the ear if they are old school but today its all about bling on watches, grillz, etc. Advice to all straight men...we women are not turned on by feminine qualities in men.

Wow. So many people in this world still thinking that the outside appearance of people determines their sexuality. I would think that with the amount of public education available that this would not exist so much. But to the question... No it does not mean he is gay. It is a piercing and that's all. I do piercings for people and there are many guys out there that are getting their belly's done. Same as a couple years ago it was only girls who had their noses done. Now there are more and more guys having theirs done. Does it mean that since guys have thier nipples pierced that gilrs who have them done are lesbian. No it doesn't. I am a male who has kids and a fiance. I'm not gay. I just enjoy piercings as I have 13 of them. Sexuality is based on the gender of the person that another person has sexual relations with. This piercing in question has to do with a persons want to adorn thier body with jewelry and nothing else. Looking at this the way most are here would be like saying a gay male without one is straight or that a girl with one is lesbian. Think about what you are saying. Your boyfriend or male friend who doesn't have one may actually be a gay guy who is just trying to look straight. Think about it.

My navel was pierced yesterday, I m a straight male, my female piercer said this was "major rad". I also have a Prince Albert, a 4-rung frennum ladder, a dermal implant and both nipples pierced. Lots of tats, too. My wife and I have been together for almost 4 decades. Does it mean anything one way or another if a guy gets a piercing? Some of us just like them!

just because a guy wants to do "feminine" things, it doesn't mean he is necessarily gay.. most guys are afraid to show their feminine side, but not all.

heck, if a girl wants to dress in a man's outfit at work, does that mean she is gay?? heck no. society creates double standards.. but it doesn't mean everybody has to follow them

if i wanna act girly, i'm gonna act girly.. doesn't mean anything about sexual orientation.. the two are mutually exclusive..

i love acting girly, i love dressing girly, but i an very sexually attracted to women.. so am i gay, well no. i am technically bisexual..

if you are more worried about a belly piercing than a guy's morals, values, attitudes, personalities, etc.. then you may end up disappointed.. if you only wanna date the jock/tough/masculine guys, you'll not likely get a guy who is able to relate to you or communicate with you..

it's a piercing for heaven's sake! having a certain piercing is no longer a secret code for who is or isn't homosexual. maybe he just liked the way it looked. maybe he wanted a piercing but had to hide it for work. are you getting my drift? there is no way you can say someone's interest in a belly piercing makes them gay or straight.

Gay...i hate steroetyping but a guy who feels comfortable enough with his body to pierce his belly button and flash it around either lost a big bet, or is VERY comfortable with his feminem side

Does it make a difference? Who cares! Let him live his life however he wants and don't worry about the stereoytypes that may follow. Its his body, so he can do what he wants. Let him worry about it if people atart saying things that are (or aren't) true. He's an ex, I don't think it's your place to be judging him based on something as simple and common as a piercing.

Gay, big-time gay. Hugely gay. There are not enough words in the English language to describe how gay that is.
