It means something damaged the save game file. It is probably not usable anymore, you will have to start a new game. Since that file is not usable anymore you may want to delete it.

Many things can damage a save game file, they can be one time occurrences or caused by a problem with either the card or the ps2. If it happens again copy your save games to a new card and stop using the old one, if it happens again after that then there's probably something wrong with the ps2 itself.

Hi, this might mean that there is a problem with the data for this save. It might just mean that the PS2 is not reading it properly: I would try taking out the memory card and making sure the slot is clean. Also try the other slot as well. Sometimes just switching off the PS2 and switching it back on is will work.

If you have no luck I would check the sony website or give their technical support line a call. It might just be that there was an error with the saving of the data and it might be irritrivable, hopefully this is not the case though!

It means he lost his memory for that game. It often happens when you turn off the PS2 while it is saving, or if you pull the memory card out while it is saving. I don't think there is a way to get it back.
