Will timing adjustment stop or reduce engine's crank noise?

only when running above 45mph. Motor is at 60K miles, powerful, good condition except this noise recently.

Crank noise? Usually can't do much about that, but to rebuild the motor.

No. To stop the crank noise you need to replace the main bearings.Around $ 50.oo in parts.
