If they won't come out and help you, maybe they can at least advise you on the best procedure. Call them and ask them. I can't think of any "safe" way to do it.

ahhhhhhhhhhh, this one I even have by no ability even concept approximately! A SKUNK! Wow. i've got by no ability even seen a stay one around right here till this year. a number of those stay traps are somewhat complicated to open too. Why have you ever been catching raccoons? I actually have a buddy that swears that the skunks around his domicile are killing his chickens. they're going to make a multitude interior the rubbish too. while you're removing the raccoons through fact of those reasons, the skunk may be working in cahoots with them. you are able to ought to kill it. that form of defeats the purpose of a "have a heart" capture, does not it. in my opinion, i does not have faith a sheet of plastic, towel, or my skill to maintain a skunk calm so as that he does not spray me. i understand i do no longer have faith my skill to out run the little rascal. think of roughly it, if he has been in there all evening, he ain't gonna be calm till he gets out and you're a number of situations larger than he's. stable success. Have a buddy video tape the launch. you are able to desire to apply the $10,000 from Funniest domicile Video to purchase tomato juice and vinegar.

Been there, done that. There was no wind, so I got a large fan and pointed it at the cage. Then took a broom handle and raised the door. The skunk isn't interested in you, so he will run the other way.

Find the head. The spray comes out the other end. That's the part you'll wanna keep away from you at all cost ;)
You could also try using an old blanket or sheet if you can spare it, but I fear you'd have to throw it afterwards.

Throw a blanket over the cage then carry it to a remote area. This sounds awfully cruel but leave it there and eventually it will die with no food or water. We had one that literally ripped up screen doors, etc. It was very costly. I don't like them.

Kill it, stand at a distance (so if it does spray you won't be the target) and shoot it. No other way I know of, I don't think you can get it out alive without getting sprayed.
