I don't know him personally, but he is an ally of the US. He is probably the only ally of the US, in Pakistan.

I see a lot of similarity between Pakistan and Iran, twenty seven years ago! The US had one friend in Iran at the time, and very little Islamic influence, because the ayatollah was in exile in France. The Shah became ill and died about the same time that Khomeini came out of exile to take over political and religious control of Iran. The US became persona non grata in Iran, and it's been that way ever since.

I believe we can expect a similar scenario, once Musharraf steps down, or is forced out of office.

I don't know him personally. I do know that he took over Pakistan in a military coup in 1999. Has sort of a cheesy, Groucho Marx type mustache.

Musharaf is a rogue "ace leeking" character. He is pleasing to western wishes against the will of his own people.. I am amazed how he could cling to power for so long!
