Most tests have to be taken about 15-18 days after ovulation. The only other way is to go in to the dr and have him do a blood test. Those are accurate after 7 days past ovulation. If you don't have enough Hcg in your system, most tests won't catch it, it does double every day though, so just wait a few more and try again!

The HPT are very accurate these days. It may be as you said too early and there isnt enough HCG hormone yet if you are pregnant. Wait a while and try again. A blood test is much more accurate if you can get your doctor to do one for you.

I'd take another test to be sure, maybe in a week.
