Daylight Savings Time has several uses. It is supposed to make it possible for people to be awake during daylight hours. It's supposed to keep children from having to walk to school or wait for a bus in the dark. In places such as Maine, people often suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) which is simply a terribly bad dose of the winter blues. Daylight Savings Time allows these folks the chance to try to beat SAD, as light is the most effective way to combat this particular disorder.

The only reason we had the clocks changing was so that farm workers in the great war could get out in the fields and work all the daylight hours but as most farms now have tractors with headlights it is a waste of time. I would prefer it to still be daylight at 10.00 in the evening.

The objective answer to your question is that people living nearer the equator do not think it is necessary to change the clocks twice a year, but people living nearer to the poles do think it is necessary to change the clocks twice a year.

The nearer you are to the equator, the less variation there is in the number of daylight hours in a day throughout the year.

The subjective answer is that younger people think it is necessary to change the clocks forwards to summer time, and older people think it is necessary to change it back again to GMT.

This is because when the clocks change to British Summer time, they are moved forwards one hour, which means is gets darker later at night, and does not get light so early in the morning. Who likes staying in bed in the morning, and going to bed late at night? - younger people.

When the clocks change back to GMT, they are moved backwards one hour, which means is gets darker earlier at night, and it gets light earlier in the morning. Who likes getting up early, and going to bed early? - older people.

I say that the clocks should stay the same. Some states and countries do not alter theirs at all and they get on fine, mind you quite interesting when you do change states, so why should the rest of the world?

No i don't. I think its annoying, especially when you lose time and have to get up early. Not to mention what it does to the kid's body clocks. Apparently the reason they do it is to give longer daylight hours to the people in Scotland.

i fairly do not comprehend what the colour and attraction of the watch has to do with this question yet so be it.... i do not use watches and the vehicle is the in trouble-free terms one i do not substitute and basically regulate the time in my head 6 months out of the three hundred and sixty 5 days. some states have done away with this stupidity and that i desire all of us would. that is basically no longer needed any more beneficial . no longer that it ever grow to be. Why does no longer the farmer basically upward push up in his personal time and end at the same time as he needed too. Dumb...basically trouble-free dumb.

I don't understand why we change them. I undesrstand the reason but Arizona doesn't change theirs and nobody seems to mind I lived in Arizona several years in fact I am moving back. I thought it was great that we didn't have to change our clocks.
