I just had this virus yesterday!! OK, this is how you remove it, 1st of all the virus is in your temporary Internet files folder, so you need to open Internet explorer, go onto Tools>Internet Options> Press Delete Cookies, Delete Files and clear history. This should empty it out so the virus has gone. Also i would recommend you disconnect your internet, the Downloader virus is a program that connects to the internet and goes onto websites to download more harmful virus's, so by disconnecting the internet (ie turn your modem off) then you are killing of the virus's life line!! OK, next step you need 2 go onto Start>My Computer>C: Local Drive>Documents and Settings> Choose your user name, then at the top where the address bar is you need to type " \Local Settings " (without the " marks)!! Then you should have 3 folders named History, Temp and Temporary Internet Files. Open Temporary Internet Files and highlight everything in there and press DELETE . (Dont worry, this will not mess up your pc, in this folder there is just data the the pc downloads while running programs etc, you do not need it) Now im predicting some sign will come up saying "the file ....... is in use, so it cannot be deleted" you just press ignore or ok etc, and go ahead and delete the rest, BUT come back to the file that cannot be deleted and have another go, because most likely that is the virus and therefore as it is active and in use you cannot delete it! What else did i do.... Ohh yea, download LavaSoft AD-AWARE. and run a full system scan, what ever comes up tick the boxes and press next so it removes all the files, this is the best anti spyware program out there!! And hopefully you have got rid of the virus, also you can now connect to the interent again!!
